Floating oil seal application and performance analysis
Floating oil seal is a compact sealing element developed to adapt to harsh working conditions. It has the advantages of simple structure, strong anti-pollution ability, reliable wear and impact resistance, and automatic compensation for end-face wear.
At present, it is mainly used in coal mining machinery, such as the sprocket of scraper conveyor, reducer and transmission mechanism of coal mining machine and rocker roller drive, and the large torque wheel side reducer of the drive bridge side wheel bracket carrier for low speed and heavy load occasions.
Structure and principle of floating oil seal.The floating oil seal has a pair of wear-resistant metal rings. The floating ring is composed of a pair of O-ring rubber rings used in conjunction with it. The floating ring is the main component of the dynamic seal. They are used in pairs, one of which rotates with the rotating part and the other is relatively stationary. The O-rubber ring is transferred to the back of the floating ring and the floating seal before it sits, positioning the floating seal ring precisely in the inner cavity of the floating seal.
The sealing principle of floating seal is that the two floating seal rings rely on the elastic deformation generated by the O-ring axial compression to provide compression force on the floating cover, with the uniform wear of the sealing surface, the elastic stroke of the O-ring is gradually released to compensate for the axial compression force, when the terminal part rotates, the floating seal ring transmits torque through friction, and the two rings produce relative motion, at this time lubrication enters the sealing surface gap, forming a very thin of oil film, so as to achieve sealing, lubrication, cooling effect
